The Salvation Army Honors Kettle Volunteers

On February 14, 2011 The Salvation Army held a dinner to honor all of the people and groups that volunteered their time to stand kettles during the past Christmas season. There were about 80 people that attended the gathering at 110 Saltonstall Street in Canandaigua. The volunteers were able to see the figures for the total number of hours they all worked and how much their service truly saved The Salvation Army from spending to pay workers to stand at the kettles during the past Christmas kettle drive.

If these folks had not volunteered there is a possibility that the goal of $70,000 would not have been reached and exceeded. The factthat they were willing to stand in the cold and still keep a smile on their faces was a sign of their commitment to help The Salvation Army reach the goal that had been set. For those that were unable to attend the dinner; The Salvation Army of Canandaigua would like to extend our gratitude and thanks for your willingness to participate in our kettle drive and we look forward to working with each of you again next year.
